Study at the International University of Cooperative Education
Profile The International University of Cooperative Education is a private vocational academy combining study and professional training to form an ideal complement to universities and academic institutions in Thuringia. At the university, you can study Business Administration in eight subject areas, as well as Business Informatics and Business Engineering, in six semesters. Studies lead to the Bachelor, an internationally recognised higher education degree. The university is optimally equipped and situated just a few minutes’ walk from Erfurt city centre. Alongside seminar rooms with modern presentation technology as well as a library extensively stocked with German and English language specialist titles, an exceptional team of lecturers create the foundations for professional and academic study.
Language centre At three of the university’s study locations, in addition to the library and modern teaching facilities, there is also a language centre offering a comprehensive range of languages as an opportunity for supplementary qualification, and entitling international applicants admission to study at the university via attractive language examinations such as DSH (on behalf of the preparatory college of the University of Mittweida), TestDAF and TOEFL.
Current courses Course structure: The University of Cooperative Education offers an innovative study model (the ‘split week model’). Practice and theory phases alternate every week: 20 hours a week practical training in the training company and 20 hours a week theoretical training at the International University of Cooperative Education. Each semester there is a block of lessons: for Business Administration 10 days (two weeks), and for Business Informatics and Business Engineering 15 days (three weeks). These sessions may take place at any of the university’s locations.
